Demographic Change: Aging & Mobility

Aging and Mobility

Overview

Aging and Mobility is a multi-disciplinary research project initiated by the CUI intended to advance our understanding of critical issues facing decision-makers and those responsible for policy with respect to the aging of society and the subsequent impact on the quality of life The principal investigators are Glenn Miller, Gordon Harris and Dr Ian Ferguson.

  1. There are three main goals:
  2. To put issues regarding aging and mobility on the policy agenda and stimulate appropriate responses by decision makers at all levels of government.
  3. To undertake research in partnership with universities and other stakeholders across Canada to create a framework for policy and its effective implementation.
  4. To stimulate broadly based responses at the community level that will result in retrofitting and/or mitigation of restrictions on senior mobility.
