This +PLACE MAKER session takes place in June, Seniors Month in Ontario. A keynote presentation by Helen Angus, Deputy Minister responsible for the Ontario Seniors Secretariat will address the province's commitment to age-friendly communities.

CBC Radio's Mary Wiens will moderate a panel discussion featuring the following experts:
Harry Kitchen, Professor Emeritus, Trent University – will address how the changing dependency ratio will influence government priorities and affect decisions regarding public policy.
Olha Dobush, Director, Chronic Disease and Injury Prevention, Peel Region – will explain how Peel’s Healthy Development Index can result in healthier neighbourhoods – and help Peel deliver services to seniors more sustainably.
Glenn Miller, Director, Canadian Urban Institute – will explain how planning for age-friendly communities will help seniors age in place.
Frank Giannone, President, FRAM Building Group and past President of the Ontario Home Builders’ Association - will present examples of communities that work for people of all ages, and explain how developers can work with municipalities to address the demographic shift underway.
