CUI ED Peter Halsall, Recipient of the CaGBC Lifetime Achievement Award

Congratulations to Peter Halsall, CUI’s Executive Director, who received the Lifetime Achievement Award, presented at the CAGBC's 2016 Leadership Awards Gala.This award recognizes an individual who, during their lifetime has made significant contributions demonstrating leadership in the field of green building.

Impact & Progress

CUI is excited to be building community around the issues and enabling informed decision making on the following projects:

  • TO Core We are part of two teams working with the City of Toronto on a new plan to shape Toronto’s downtown core. CUI (with Swerhun Facilitation, Social Planning Toronto) has produced Taking Stock an assessment of community services and facilities, and the people that they serve, in the Downtown. We are also part of the communications and engagement team (with Swerhun, Studio Jaywall, Maximum City, Urban Strategies, Environics Analytics, Yes Crew and John Beaucage). #TOcore
  • Waterfront Toronto Resiliency & Innovation Framework CUI is working with Waterfront Toronto to develop a new framework that will focus on climate change resiliency, innovation and intelligent communities development to define the next level of global leadership for waterfront Development.
  • International Urban Learning Exchange Last month, CUI hosted a group of Nigerian town planners in Toronto. The 5-Day Learning Exchange included panel discussion with local experts and site visits highlighting planning innovation in Ontario.
