On December 4 CUI hosted Urban Leadership Day at Artscape's newest venue the Sandbox. The morning kicked-off with our Annual Meeting with Toronto's Chief Planner with NRU Publishing and was followed by CUI's presentation of the 2015 Urban Leadership Awards program. Our new Chair is Andréa Callà, a Senior Executive with Tridel, with Kathleen Llewellyn-Thomas, P.Eng. as Vice-Chair. CUI thanks Marni Cappe, who served as Chair for the 2014-2015 term. Marni will continue as a Director. We also thank departing Directors Tanzeel Merchant and Winnie Shi.

CUI's Lisa Cavicchia and Francis Gentoral recently visited Northern Iloilo & Northern Capiz in the Philippines, one year after Typhoon Haiyan, one of the strongest tropical storms ever recorded, struck the Philippines.
